Crossfit has made a profound impact on my life in a few short months, improving my mobility, agility and fitness. Moments that will stay with me for a long time to come are:

My friends are happy for me, and I am often asked for a “secret”. There is no secret, you just have to make the decision and mean it.
I am overwhelmed by the friendliness of everyone involved – check your ego at the door! Even those with amazingly fit bodies are so supportive as I struggle along beside them.
Having profound back problems, it is hugely reassuring to have each exercise explained and demonstrated, and to start at low intensity, building at my own pace. Equally, it gives me confidence that the minute I look unsteady (or get a bit “macho”) there is someone with me to make the call and slow me down.
It is a great credit to the program that although starting very overweight and grossly unfit (and carrying knee and back injuries) I have never sustained an injury with Crossfitnq. In fact as a result of losing weight (over 20kg in three months) and increased core fitness and abdominal strength, I am almost off pain medication despite a much more active lifestyle.
If you want something for all those people out there that haven’t given Crossfit a go, you can quote me – “If you live in Townsville and haven’t tried Crossfit then start tomorrow, if you don’t live in Townsville . . . MOVE!!”

18 months ago I wore long baggy pants and T-shirts on my first day at CFNQ. I felt intimidated, nervous and a little apprehensive. WARM UP I nearly died and I still had a WOD to go. I went home that night and didn’t move, but something must have triggered in my brain… Yes I want to feel better physically and emotionally. I kept coming back I was actually enjoying exercising… the sense of achievement at completing a WOD was addictive.
I’ve lost over 20k and have gained so much more: Confidence, Fitness, Emotional Wellbeing and Friendship.
No more big baggy gym gear.

Crossfit is the only way to achieve cardio and strength fitness all in one.
It is never boring as the workouts are varied and cater to all abilities. I started crossfit to help me lose weight and tone up and now, after losing over 50kg, I am hooked.

After moving to Townsville in 2009 I joined a local gym and for nearly 12 months I did what you do at a gym and lifted weights and ran on a treadmill. Becoming disillusioned and bored I looked for something different and more challenging which is when I discovered Crossfit NQ.

I started training with CrossFit NQ in April 2008 and have been attending their classes ever since. It is easily the most effective fitness program I have come across.
Just one of my personal examples: I’ve had numerous shoulder injuries for years, and couldn’t do anything that required my arm to be lifted over my head. Since joining CrossFit not only have my shoulders strengthened… but I can do more with them then I could before they were injured.
The best thing about CrossFit NQ is definitely the group dynamics. When you have a group you are committed to, not only is it easy to turn up… but they help push you to improve so much more quickly than if I was working out on my own.
CrossFit is head and shoulders above any other exercise programs I have tried, and I recommend it to anybody.
